Why the Media’s Biden Bashing Backfired on Democracy

The press fixated on Biden’s age while ignoring trump’s lies, helping reelect a brazenly corrupt president. They're doing it AGAIN.

I am beyond fucking furious about the sudden hit job the press is putting on President Biden, in the midst of a maelstrom of trump corruption they could and should be focused on instead.

They are trying to rewrite history and shift the blame to Biden for trump's reelection, but I remember their fucking nonstop obsession with his goddamn age, hitting that drumbeat daily like it was the only song they knew.

The latest garbage being circulated by the press is coverage about a book and recently released audio proving that Joe Biden was old, and that this was being hidden from voters—an utterly preposterous notion, considering they reminded us daily, all fucking day long, for the entire time he was in office.

Newsflash: we all knew Joe was old. Big fucking deal. At least he was committed to upholding the Constitution and didn’t operate the office like a crooked mob boss. Nobody ever doubted that he would leave office when his term was up.

He wasn’t accepting bribes, and he wasn’t busy saying things to “own MAGA.” He was busy signing legislation trying to improve the lives of all Americans.

And when the press decided to try a new tune, they’d follow up good news with bad: “Unemployment numbers are down, and job creation is up—stay tuned for why that’s bad news for Biden!”

We have a historically corrupt president in office now, one who is openly soliciting bribes with his crypto coin and brazenly accepting them, but the focus is on what private citizen Joe Biden did?

A U.S. senator, Lisa Murkowski, recently admitted that she and other members of Congress choose not to confront him (consciously neglecting their responsibility of serving as a check and balance) because they fear retribution from the president. Imagine if that was Joe Biden!

The media routinely lets trump get away with a nonstop stream of lies, no longer bothering to fact-check his lying ass during or after press conferences, and half of every fucking word out of his mouth is slamming President Biden, while these pathetic hacks take dictation.

Consider this: Ten days after a supposed assassination attempt on trump’s life, where his ear was supposedly struck by a bullet traveling over a thousand miles per hour from an AR-15 rifle, his ear was completely HEALED, and not one reporter had the curiosity to ask how it healed so damn quickly. Not one, to this day. But they’re reviewing the fucking mystery of Joe Biden’s age. Lazy.

On Saturday night, I incredulously watched a segment on MSNBC in stunned disbelief. The chyron read, “Democrats Chart Future Amid Biden Baggage,” as a panel of political prognosticators wondered how anyone could trust Democrats again after letting Joe Biden be old, or something—I had to fucking turn off my TV so that I wouldn’t throw something at it.

Are you fucking kidding me? The man gave his all for America, and you know what? I guess age creeps up on you kinda quickly. Earlier in 2024, at Biden’s last State of the Union, he was commanding the room, on live national TV, like a man 20 years younger. He joked with them as he noted their boos at being accused of targeting Social Security: “Aw, you don’t like that, huh?”

If that Biden showed up to debate trump in late June, nobody would have complained.

Instead, we all watched in horror as a shadow of Joe Biden struggled to compete with trump’s stream of bullshit, the light in his eyes from that State of the Union dimmed significantly. The entire party was freaking out, myself included. I was on the phone with friends, wondering what the fuck happened.

After that disastrous debate, Joe had a few major public appearances, one with world leaders and a few major interviews, but by then the damage was done, and the support for him going to November evaporated, and he passed the baton to Kamala.

The man could have decided to move forward to November, but he selflessly decided to step aside. Could he have decided earlier? Of course. But when would that decision have been made? After his enormously successful State of the Union address? A year earlier, when he still appeared to have the wind at his back?

Joe Biden beat trump that first time because, like it or not, America is still that country we learned it was in 2016: it will not elect a woman, let alone a woman of color. Joe won because he is a white guy with experience, and he told trump to “shut up, man” in front of millions of Americans.

The media is repeating the exact same bullshit that they did in 2015 and 2016, allowing trump to get away with a TON of bullshit while they laser-focused on the red herring that was Hillary's emails, investigated exhaustively after the fact and found to be a major nothingburger, but the damage was done.

Parse all of the data and post election bullshit from 2024 as much as you want; it wasn’t really that complicated. The caveman brains in America’s subconscious wanted a leader they thought could beat the shit out of trump in a fist fight. They didn’t see that in Kamala and, thanks to the obsessive focus on Joe's advancing age, no longer saw that in Joe. For the record, Joe is only two years older than trump.

Our voters, the ones who pay attention, are pathetically shallow—this is a “Real Housewives” and “The Bachelor” electorate that cares more about superficial bullshit than anything else. At the end of the day, trump's many lies were spoken with a stronger voice an 100% conviction, while Joe's voice was raspy, sounded like he needed a lozenge, and reminded you that he was probably going to die soon.

“Oh, but trump would be much better for America’s economy because he’s good at business,” they tried to rationalize their decision, the guy who fucking bankrupted casinos and had two businesses closed because of fraud. America, hoodwinked by this guy because he used to pretend to fire celebrities on NBC over a decade ago.

trump and his flunkies are carrying out the super fascist Project 2025 right in front of our eyes, and our mainstream media is woefully incapable of covering it with the kind of urgency and intensity the situation calls for.

We are up shit’s creek right now partly because of America’s gullibility, but also because American media failed or refused to adequately call out his bullshit. How hard is it? He repeats the same lies in all of his press conferences. Prepare for his lies ahead of time and call him out.

I’ll say this: I have lost all faith in MSNBC’s daytime lineup. They are completely unwatchable until Nicolle Wallace at 4 p.m., and forget about CNN—I don’t have any patience for their smarmy Scott Jennings garbage, so I will continue not watching them.

Really, that doesn’t leave us much for trustworthy news sources, outside of independent left-leaning online podcast news sources, but they don’t have the same mainstream reach that Fox News and Newsmax have, not yet at least. But their audiences are growing.

On Saturday night, trump called for ABC News to be punished for reporting on his Qatar Bribe Jet in yet another unhinged Saturday night Truth Social post that will go underreported, because they are too busy covering Joe Biden’s age. Yeah, he’s still old, you fucking tools.

If the media doesn’t start working together to confront the rising threat trump poses to our democracy, we will cease to have a free press to tell us it’s happening.
