Why trump Suddenly Fell in Love With Zohran Mamdani
The 45 minutes without reporters that explain everything
Raise your hand if you were legitimately STUNNED when you saw pictures or video of trump grinning from ear to ear in the Oval Office with NYC Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani.
I was laughing my ass off. It was one of the funniest things I’d seen in a while.
Unlike many in the media, I have a pretty good recollection of all the ways trump had attacked Mamdani in the weeks and months leading up to the self-described Democratic Socialist’s historic win.
This was such an insane, Bizarro-world display that I actually became a little bit obsessed with it, determined to dissect exactly how and why trump flipped his Mamdani hate into a love fest with his new “Communist” Muslim bro.
He’s called him “a radical left lunatic”, “a 100 percent Communist Lunatic” and a “self professed JEW HATER” one day before the election. And, to add insult to injury, he even told 60 Minutes the objectively blatant lie that he was “much better looking person” than the handsome 34 year old.
I have watched trump launch countless personal attacks against people young and old, Black or White, Democrat or Republican, and while most of his insults are childish, he does not hold back. He even recently told a journalist who asked about the Epstein files “Quiet, Piggy” right to her face.
In a high-stakes Oval Office meeting earlier this year between trump and President Zelensky, a sickening ambush awaited the Ukrainian leader, where he was belittled by none other than couch-f***ing phony JD Vance, who demanded to know “Did you even say thank you?”
Rarely have I seen trump do as thorough an about-face on anyone as he did with Zohran Mamdani, even as his favorite cable news channel Fox News had the Islamophobia and Socialist fear mongering cranked up to 11. A TV graphic that day billed the Oval Office meeting as “Showdown with Socialism.”
That ambush of Zelensky by trump and Vance was done in full view of cameras, with trump physically slapping Zelensky’s arm while shouting at him, “You don’t have the cards!”
Many admirers of the Muslim Mayor-elect were concerned that a similar sneak attack awaited Mamdani. They lamented the fact that the first 30 to 45 minutes were off limits to the press, no cameras allowed.
So what happened while the cameras were off?
